The Ultimate Fighter 10 runner-up Brendan Schaub will meet fellow heavyweight Gabriel Gonzaga on the main card of “UFC 121: Lesnar vs. Velasquez” on October 23 in Anaheim, California, according to Sportsnet.
Schaub (6-1) suffered a first-round KO to Roy Nelson in the finals of TUF 10 in December, but has rebounded with back-to-back knockouts of Chase Gormley in March and Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 116 earlier this month.
Gonzaga (11-5) is 3-3 since losing to then heavyweight champ Randy Couture in 2007, most-recently suffering a first-round KO to heavyweight contender Junior dos Santos in March after earning a first-round TKO of Chris Tuchscherer in August.
The UFC 121 fight card is headlined by heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez and also features Jake Shields vs. Martin Kampmann and Tito Ortiz vs. Matt Hamill.

This is a good test for Schaub. I look forward to this fight, but I really dont think he’s a contender in that division. Im a huge TUF fan, and i wish the dude the best. This should be a good day for Gonzaga.
This card is too good to be true. The undercard will be better than some main cards (cough, cough, UFC 120). However, when something seems too good to be true it usually is – I’m predicting a lot of injuries, illnesses and pull-outs in the next 3 months.

Agree this card is crazy… I think this officially makes Gonzaga a stepping stone in the HW division. Before it was questionable, but now it is certain…
