The stacked fight card for WEC 51 continues to grow, as a lightweight bout between Chris Horodecki and Ed Ratcliff, originally scheduled for June’s WEC 49, has been added to the September 30 Versus-televised event in Broomfield, Colorado, Ratcliff announced today.
An undisclosed injury forced Ratcliff to withdraw just days before their June matchup, and Horodecki (15-2) instead picked up his first WEC win with a third-round submission of newcomer Danny Downes.
Ratcliff (7-2) has dropped two of his last three, most-recently suffering a third-round submission to Donald Cerrone in the “Fight of the Night” at WEC 45 in December.
The WEC 51 fight card is headlined by featherweight champ Jose Aldo vs. Manny Gamburyan and also includes the anticipated rematch between Jamie Varner and Donald Cerrone, Miguel Torres vs. Charlie Valencia, and Mark Hominick vs. Leonard Garcia.
