Tyson Griffin vs. Gleison Tibau at UFC 81
The Fight Network is reporting that representatives from the Xtreme Couture camp have verified that Tyson Griffin will step into the octagon to face Gleison Tibau at UFC 81 which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 2nd, 2008 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. So far the only match-up officially confirmed by the UFC on that card is the Brock Lesnar-Frank Mir fight which was announced yesterday.
Griffin (10-1-0) who trains with Xtreme Couture is perhaps best known for being the only man on the planet to ever hand a loss to arguably the number one featherweight in the world, Urijah Faber. Griffin, currently 3-1 in the UFC, will look to put a stop to Gleison Tibau (15-4-0) who is currently riding a 4-win hot streak. The American Top Team fighter has been on a tear ever since losing to Nick Diaz in his UFC debut, and is getting better with each and every fight. The winner of this bout could quite possibly be in line for a title shot.

Tyson Griffin is a stud. The guy has the potential to be a Top Ten Lightweight one day, especially since he trains with the Great Randy Couture. This should be a fun fight to watch.
I agree…i cant wait to see this one
Watching Tyson Griffin since he joined Xtreme Couture is amazing. He was always a tough kid, but now he mirrors Couture. He has changed his fighting stance and punching since moving to Vegas and is Fighting just like Randy, which has made him even more dangerous. I read about the Griffin/Faber fight in a magazine a while back. It was headlined as “The Greatest Fight You’ll Never Get To See”. It sounds like an amazing back and fourth, bloody battle. I would really like to see Faber move up to lightweight and join the ranks of the UFC. The kid is a bad ass, and then we could ALL get to see the rematch. As far as Griffin/Tibau goes, any fight with Tyson is a potential fight of the year.
Good fight, can’t wait to see this one.
this should be a amsome fight right here cant wait 2 see this one
I really like Tyson Griffin….espeically since he beat the cocky Tavares. Tavaras got so cocky after he beat Jason Black and Griffin put him in his place. It was nice.
