Welterweights David Mitchell and Anthony “TJ” Waldburger have signed with the UFC and will square off against each other in their UFC debuts at UFC Fight Night 22 on September 15 in Austin, Texas, according to fiveouncesofpain.com.
Mitchell (11-0) successfully defended his Tachi Palace Fights title with a first-round submission of Poppies Martinez last weekend to remain unbeaten and also holds notable wins over former UFC fighters War Machine and Tim McKenzie.
Waldburger (12-5) topped Pat Healy in his most-recent fight in September for his third-straight win and has also scored victories over UFC veterans Pete Spratt and Brian Foster.
The Spike-televised UFC Fight Night 22 fight card is headlined by middleweight contenders Demian Maia vs. Alan Belcher and also includes Matt Wiman vs. Mac Danzig, Gleison Tibau vs. Jim Miller, and Ross Pearson vs. Cole Miller.
