After both earning wins at UFC 115 in June, The Ultimate Fighter 9 welterweight winner James Wilks is set to meet Claude Patrick at “UFC 120: Bisping vs. Akiyama” on October 16 in London.
UFC 120, which airs on tape-delay on Spike TV, is also expected to include the return of former WEC light heavyweight champ Steve Cantwell, who hasn’t fought since dropping a unanimous decision loss to Brian Stann in September.
An England native, Wilks (7-3) most-recently scored a unanimous decision over Peter Sobotta at UFC 115 to rebound from a November loss to Matt Brown. “Lightning” had previously won four-straight, including submitting DaMarques Johnson in June 2009 to win TUF 9′s 170-pound tournament.
Patrick (12-1) extended his win streak to 11-straight in his UFC debut, as he submitted Ricardo Funch in the second-round on the UFC 115 prelims.
The UFC 120 fight card is headlined by Michael Bisping vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama and also includes Dan Hardy vs. Carlos Condit and John Hathaway vs. Dong Hyun Kim.

I’m so excited for this card! The Honda Center is in my neck of the woods. Very Smart to add James Wilks. He has his own gym, Lighting MMA in Lake Forest so he is a local fighter or sorts. Mark Munoz and Mike “Joker” Guymon are other UFC fighters that have gyms in South Central Orange County (yeah, I just called it that :P). I wouldn’t be surprised if they made appearances on this card either.
These fights are for UFC 120 in London. You’re thinking of 121 which occurs the following weekend in Anaheim.
@ Corey, i train at jokers and he probably needs knee surgery and may also possible have a broken hand and messed up elbow. he tore his knee up 2 days before the fight at ufc 113 against yoshida. James wilks trains at jokers gym with the “fight team” in the mornings. he is a funny dude. also mark munoz is fighting august 1st so unless he beats okami without any injuries i dont see him on this card
i like wilks and cantwell, i hope at least 1 of these fights will be broadcast. Does anyone no the details on that front?
