Din Thomas’ Lawyer Claims He Never Broke The Law

Corey Sucher, lawyer to UFC veteran, Din Thomas claims his client never broke the law. Thomas was arrested this past Tuesday by Port St. Lucie police for holding his version of “fight club” out of his mixed martial arts academy. Thomas now faces a felony prohibited competitions charge. Port St. Lucie authorities report that, when they arrived at Thomas’ gym on the morning of the arrest, they found 150 spectators watching an illegal cage fight between two men. However, Thomas’ attorney believes otherwise. Sucher claims that the so called illegal cage fights that police raided in on were in fact sparring sessions between teammates. According to Sucher, the fighters weren’t being paid to fight, also, a fight purse wasn’t being offered. Sucher argues:

“Does that mean people can’t train? These were sparring sessions to get participants experience. We see this as training sessions, sparring sessions between teammates.”
