A middleweight bout between Nick Catone and Tomasz Drwal and a light heavyweight matchup between Kyle Kingsbury and Jared Hamman are in the works for UFC Fight Night 22 on September 15 in Austin, Texas, according to MMAjunkie.
Catone (8-2) was expected to drop to welterweight after snapping a two-fight losing streak with a split decision over Jesse Forbes in January to even his UFC record at 2-2. Following three-straight wins, Drwal (17-3) was submitted in just 45-seconds by Rousimar Palhares at March’s UFC 111.
After losing their UFC debuts, The Ultimate Fighter 8’s Kingsbury (8-2) edged Razak Al-Hassan in October, while Hamman (11-2) won earned a unanimous decision over Rodney Wallace in the “Fight of the Night” at UFC 111.
UFC Fight Night 22 features middleweight contenders Demian Maia vs. Alan Belcher, while the Spike-televised UFC Fight Night 22 fight card is also rumored to include Gleison Tibau vs. Jim Miller, Ross Pearson vs. Cole Miller, and Matt Wiman vs. Mac Danzig.
