Pretty standard post-TUF finale housecleaning, although I’m glad to see Yager go, at least until he grows up a bit…

  • Jerod says:

Maybe Jamie Yager will get another chance in the UFC somewhere down the line if he goes somewhere else first and improves his ground game, and his chin, and his cardio, and his attitude.

    • frantzfanon says:

The attitude is a huge factor, Jerod. I’m glad you touched on that. All the talent and ability is nothing if you aren’t ‘coachable’. Then again, you can’t coach courage (whether in the Octogon or being challenged to back up your talk by a housemate that had enough), now can you?

  • mma fan says:

ufc using fighters on the ultimate fighter show then not giving them a chance but this series was the worst one of all time has yagger was the only one worth watching has he was getting the tv time

  • adam says:

Yager refused to come out for a third round. I think if you’re a “fighter” you should never quit unless your health is in danger. Rich Franklin kept fighting Chuck Liddell with a broken arm. I’m glad Yager’s gone.

  • MR MITB says:

Yager a cool guy. Just needs to mature himself in and out of the cage. Hope to see him back in the ufc or on televised events. Bryant was kinda the shocker for me. Well wish best on their future. Good fighters.

  • frantzfanon says:

Let’s keep in mind all you Yager-haters, BJ Penn quit on the stool too….

    Not comparing fighters, only situations.

That being said, I’m surprised the jettisoned Hammertree. All the group released, I think he’s the one who can work his way back.

I’m reasonably sure that any TUF alum that sorts themselves out both personally and professionally, and hasn’t previously burned bridges, will get another look-see from the UFC…

  • jacob adam brooks says:

Im not surprised at any of these… Bryant maybe but he needs to drop to 170 and get some experience there. Hammortree lost twice in the house and then lost in his debut… how can you be shocked over his release? Yeager was 2-1 going into the house but the opponents he beat were a combined 3-12 people… Yeager then quit against Bryant and was TKOd by Antonito. He has no business in the UFC. He has no ground skills and no heart… and his striking is very overrated… Noke Antonito Camozzi and Tavares could have solid futures ahead of them but the guys that were released definitely arent ufc material right now. I cant think of 1 UFC fighter any of them could beat… Maybe Bryant if he drops down in weight but even McCray is going to struggle to keep a roster spot at this point. Hes a one trick pony, which is overpowering smaller guys and then ground and pounding them but Bryant and Mcgee both showed that his wrestling and grappling are far from elite and when thats all you have, things arent looking to good.
