Although Henry Cejudo reportedly suffered some burns on his foot, and lost his 2008 Olympic Gold Medal while fleeing a wildfire in Northern California, he will reportedly still fight at UFC 218.
Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that Cejudo was forced to jump off a balcony to escape a fire, and that in doing so, he broke his ankle. Since then, however, Cejudo’s manager Ali Abdelaziz told MMA Junkie that the decorated wrestler is not seriously injured, and that he still plans to fight Sergio Pettis on December 2nd.
Abdelaziz did confirm that Cejudo’s foot incurred some burns, and that he was forced to leave his Gold Medal behind, while fleeing the fire. The flyweight was in the region to attend a fundraiser.
UFC 218 will take place at Caesar’s Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
