After Gokhan Saki’s electrifying Octagon debut last month, the feared striker said he wanted a quick turnaround bout, and the UFC’s granted his wish.
Recently the promotion announced that Saki will take on Khalil Rountree at UFC 219, December 30th.
Saki (1-1) took on Henrique da Silva at UFC FN 117 in September, and bombed out the light-heavyweight in the first round. The bout marked the first time since 2004 that the decorated kickboxer had fought under MMA rules.
Rountree (6-2), meanwhile, is coming off consecutive, KO wins over Paul Craig and Daniel Jolly. The TUF vet has gone 2-2 in the UFC to date.
So, that’s an interesting match-up and a stiff test for Saki in just his third, MMA scrap.
UFC 219 will go down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
