Hamill and Jardine bumbed off the headline…ouch.

Well, this is the TUF finale after all.
I know its non-standard, but IMO the main event of the TUF finale should be the TUF finalists.
      Makes sense, no?
If this were a PPV I could understand it, but TUF is a TV promotional vehicle, so the main event should be the “season finale”, if that makes sense…

Makes a ton of sense, but the initial posters had Hamill vs Jardine as headliner. I know the Brit vs USA season had the finalists as the main events, but other than that I can’t remember that happening.

I’m happy to see Yager on the Main Card, only because I found his style very exciting until he gassed. What I don’t like, is that he seemed (at least to people smarter than me!) that he quit on his fight, and is only getting a shot on the Main Card because of the drama he created.

I feel this goes against the Dana White mantra. By this, I mean that he’s had to discipline cast members in the past for too much drama, and and always said that he rewards the fighters who go out there and give it their all. I feel Yager is being rewarded for the wrong reasons. That said, I can’t wait to see those kicks and that crazy stylie!

I was a big fan of Yager’s near-capoeira style, but that fail to answer the bell didn’t sit right with me. Showed a lack of heart. He had one more round to show he belongs there, get KO’d, get subbed, land a lucky kick, just do something. But he was the guy most drama focused around, so like Junie and Leben, I feel he’s here at least until he loses badly.

      Agreed on the Dana thing.

      • CB says:

Yagers style was cool, but dude quit & cannot take a punch. Pissed they’re giving him a fight on the card.

      • Just Mike says:

I agree with CB. I would much rather see Noke v. Bryant on the main card. The only reason Yager is there is because of his mouth, which may sell tickets but won’t win fights.

This is the season finale, not a PPV. I would rather Yager be fighting Uscola just because there seemed to be a lot of hatred between the two. Rumor has it that Uscola had his d1ck bitten by a pitbull and was out of training for a while, which is why I assume he isn’t on the finale. I would think people who watched the show would want to see Yager fight again. There is always one that people love to hate, and people will turn on the tv in hopes of seeing him get beat down.

      • GarRule says:

My problem is that now young fighters know that the jerks get on the main card…I’m not too sure how that jives w/ me.

      • Avatar of Chris Leslie Chris Leslie says:

@theagent it’s no rumor that’s what happened, though I don’t know the breed of the dogs.

      • Avatar of theagent theagent says:

I did some follow up on the dog bite because I didn’t know the whole story. I found that it was actually a pack (2) of pitbulls and happened outside of TUF house. Uscola said he was fighting off one and the other bit straight through his penis.

  • skdrcr says:

I hope cort takes this one although I liked mcray as well. He shows a lot of heart and has a pretty good chin.

  • Avatar of petterson petterson says:

i hope and think mcray will win, was he the guy roaring “AYOAHH” at the top of his voice when yager was fighting?

  • Avatar of jcohl jcohl says:

For those p!ssed that Yager is getting an opportunity, consider that he is young, talented, and marketable.
Yes, all the TUF house drama helped, and yes at Yager’s current age and skill level he should probably be fighting on a Strikeforce Challengers card or in a Bellator tourney, but Dana is taking a chance on the guy.

If he comes back from his TUF humiliation stronger, more focused, with an improved attitude, and more importantly greater personal fortitude, then Dana looks like an excellent judge of talent.
But if Yager comes to the cage Saturday night the same way he came into the TUF house, namely all sizzle and no steak, then Dana looks cool for bringing the guy in, giving him a chance, and exposing him as a poser.

Its really a win/win for Dana here, but I can definitely understand and sympathize with the backlash…
