Ed Ratcliff Out of WEC 49 Bout With Chris Horodecki

Ed RatcliffSaturday’s WEC 49 fight card in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada has suffered a last-minute change, as Ed Ratcliff today announced on Facebook that he’s been forced to withdraw from his Versus-televised main card matchup with Chris Horodecki:

“I wanna say sorry to all the fans, family, and friends for having to pull out on such late notice. Even more importantly I wanna appologise to Chris Horodecki for going thru all of that hard work and not getting the final release u deserve. I wish u the best. Sorry everyone.!!!!!!”

Ratcliff (7-2) took home “Fight of the Night” honors for this third-round submission loss to lightweight contender Donald Cerrone in the main event of December’s WEC 45, which dropped him to 3-2 in the WEC.

A former IFL standout, Horodecki (13-2) made his anticipated WEC debut in December, but suffered a first-round knockout to Anthony Njoukuani.

WEC 49 is headlined by former lightweight champ Jamie Varner vs. Kamal Shalorus, and also includes Mark Hominick vs. Yves Jabouin and Josh Grispi vs. LC Davis.

A replacement for Ratcliff has yet to be confirmed, but stay tuned to for complete WEC 49 coverage.
