Court McGee and Kris McCray are set to square off in the finals of The Ultimate Fighter 11’s middleweight tournament after earning victories in their semifinal matchups, which aired during Wednesday’s two-hour regular season finale on Spike TV.
The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale takes place next Saturday, June 19, at The Palms in Las Vegas and is headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Ultimate Fighter veterans Matt Hamill and Keith Jardine.
After dropping a controversial decision to Nick Ring, Team Liddell’s McGee replaced injured teammate Rich Attonito and defeated James Hammortree in the quarterfinals, then scored a third-round submission of teammate Brad Tavares in the semis to advance to the finale.
Team Franklin’s (originally Team Ortiz’s) McCray was also eliminated in the opening round by Josh Bryant, but won a wild card bout over Kyacey Uscola to claim the final quarterfinal spot. After topping Kyle Noke, McCray earned a unanimous decision in a rematch with Bryant to move on the finals.
The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale also includes Chris Leben vs. Aaron Simpson and Spencer Fisher vs. Dennis Siver, while additional bouts featuring TUF 11 castmembers are expected to be announced shortly.
