Toronto, Pittsburgh Possible Hosts for December UFC Headlined by St-Pierre vs. Koscheck

Georges St-PierreThe UFC hopes to make it’s Toronto debut in December with an event headlined by a rematch between welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre and opposing Ultimate Fighter 12 coach Josh Koscheck.

However, Canada’s largest city must first legalize mixed martial arts or the card could be shifted to Pittsburgh, UFC President Dana White recently announced.

The event will likely take place at Toronto’s Rogers Centre, where the UFC last week  announced the opening of a Canadian office that is tasked with finishing the UFC’s push for sanctioning in Ontario, though Pittsburgh’s soon-to-be-opened Consol Engery Center, the future home of the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins, could instead host the card if needed.

The popular Canadian St-Pierre topped Dan Hardy in March for his seventh-straight win, while the Pennsylvania-native Koscheck defeated Paul Daley at UFC 113 in May for his fourth win in five bouts to earn the title shot.
