Interesting, Rashad and Quintin made the same amount ($250,000) I figured without the win bonus, Rashad would of made less.

  • Jdubb says:

Did Brilz at least get the fight of the night bonus???

Bisping got 190k? wow. I mean his TUF contract is long expired now. And he’s good for sure, but I didn’t think he was 190k good. Specially with only a 15k win bonus. Thats nuts.

    • Avatar of bsbiz bsbiz says:

That’s the contract he negotiated. It’s not nuts at all.

Bear in mind that even though Bisping’s first TUF contract has expired, he still remains the UFC poster boy in the UK, and is getting paid commensurately.
      Whats so “nuts” about that?

      • muaythai4life says:

No I am aware that his TUF contract was expired. I only mentioned it to negate any preconceived ideas that the money came from his “6 figure contract” from winning TUF. I understand fully that Bisping is the UFC’s English star, and that they post his photo’s and name everywhere they can over there, and include using him in their shows as much as possible. However there are a lot of other British stars that provide some pull in Europe atm who don’t make anywhere near $190k a fight. Hardy has at least fought for the title.

I know Bisping has been around a bit longer than Hardy, and just like the Raiders tend to do with their draft picks, the UFC can and should pay their fighters what ever they want. And good for Bisping for negotiating such a good contract. I’m just saying he is seriously hard pressed to draw $190k worth of viewers when he’s not fighting in England.

Dude it was nearly a 4 million dollar gate, 190k (£130,000 ish) is nothing if you put it into perspective. It the other guys that should be making more, but I’m not going to open that can of worms.

hmph i feel cyrille or guillard earnd that bonus more than russow did, not as surpriseing but far classier

  • skdrcr says:

Cyrille diabate looked good. He got rocked by a shot early then rebounded with a striking clinic himself. I think hois chin is a little suspect though. I guess we’ll see before too long.

One of the things being a bit overlooked in all the pre and post 114 noise is the seeming decline of Luiz Cane.
I remember maybe 6 months ago posters were swearing that the guy was the next big thing at 205…talking about how he should have fights with Rich Franklin or Forrest Griffin or some other ranked 205er…and how fans not buying into Cane were somehow missing the train on the guy.
One poster in particular, I can’t recall his name, actually questioned my MMA knowledge when I let him know that Cane wasn’t anywhere near ready for the 205 spotlight.
Well, its maybe half a year later, and the guy still doesn’t look quite ready for primetime IMO, so now what?.
The guy had to go to a decision against Steve Cantwell, got past James Irvin via DQ, and then couldn’t make it 3 minutes with either LittleNog or Diabate.
Wins over Sokodjou and Jason Lambert don’t exactly qualify a guy for “in the mix” status.
Maybe, just maybe, all of that Cane noise will be muted until the guy actually does something in the UFC to merit all the props thrown his way.
That is, if he still has a job in the UFC, because back to back poor performances and a .500 record doesn’t exactly make Dana think about keeping you on the payroll, now does it?
