Report: Management Says Stipe Miocic Still Holding Out for More Money, Not Fighting Cain Velasquez

UFC

According to Stipe Miocic’s management, the UFC’s heavyweight champ has no deal in place to fight Cain Velasquez, as recently reported.

Recently BJ Penn.com and MMA OddsBreaker reported that sources had informed them that Miocic and Velasquez are going to fight at UFC 216 in October.

But, since then, MMA Fighting has spoken with Miocic’s management, who said the heavyweight is still holding out for more money. Further, Miocic’s management reportedly said there’s been no serious talks about the fighter’s next bout.

Earlier this year Miocic relayed that he was unhappy about the fact that Alistair Overeem makes more money than him. Miocic KO’d Overeem last September. Junior dos Santos, who Miocic stopped in May, was also paid more than the heavyweight champ.
