UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture will hold a press conference on Thursday at 4:30pm ET in Las Vegas at Xtreme Couture to discuss his shocking resignation from the UFC earlier this month. Couture is expected to explain his reasons for leaving the promotion and will also answer questions from the media.

The press conference will be shown live on HDNet as part of a special live edition of Inside MMA.

Stay tuned to MMAFrenzy.com on Thursday for live updates from the press conference.

How the hell do u get HDNet?????

  • Red says:

Yeah, I’m with you Kay-O. How does one get HDNet? Is it a premium channel? Or is it already included for people who have cable or satellite?

  • KOuch says:

HDnet is owned or has something to do with Mark Cuban. I once read that Cuban wanted to start his own fight production company airing fights from the HDnet channel. I believe he put one show on already but I could be wrong. I find this interesting considering the rumors of Cuban being involved with M-1, the company Fedor signed with. I love Couture and believe he wanted to fight Fedor but it’s looking like a money thing to me. I believe he wants to fight the best but money is bigger to Couture at this point in his career. In any case, call your cable company and ask about HDNET……you’ll be lucky if you can get it because my cable company does not offer it.

“…Sibling has two majority holders, themselves and a man named Michael Baybak. This is one of the more interesting developments…”

The guy Baybak, is a crook, and he owns 49% of the stock of M-1 Global. Watch, the stocks will get to thier highest level the day before the first proposed Fedor PPV, and then he will cash out, right before the fight is canceled. Here is some of Baybak’s other work.

    “…NETI Technologies, a software company,
was trumpeted in the press as “the next Xerox” and in 1984
rose to a market value of $120 million with Baybak’s help. The
company, which later collapsed, was delisted two months ago
    by the Vancouver exchange….”

That was the now defunct Vancouver Stock Exchange, defunct because it was sooo crooked, and is the place where Baybak made a ton of money.

Where there is smoke, there is fire.

Basically, everyone, don’t get your hopes up for M-1 Global which seems very, very shady.

I will be really, really surprised if it proves to be a successfull enterprise.

Well, last time I was in Tweeter, their TVs all ran HDnet programming for display purposes. So, find a Tweeter and head to the demo room, where they have the vibrating Lazyboys parked in front of the latest big screen and 5.0 Dolby Surround sound. Hey, it’s free. Just wander in at 4:25 est to ’shop’.

  • Andy says:

What ever happened to Fedor’s press confrence on Monday? No one reported on it.

  • The press conference delivered little beyond what we knew and it will likely affect the UFC very little but basically the owners were revealed to be a little-known company (though they do have well-known partners) and Fedor signed a 6-fight contract. Most important to UFC fans is this contract is not exclusive to M-1 meaning he could still potentially fight Fedor in the UFC. The contract also provides up to $2 million to make that fight happen. It’s a long shot but the contract makes it possible.

  • Holy_Dave says:

Is mmafrenzy going to cover both Randy’s and Dana’s press conference that were so conveniently scheduled at the same time?

  • Accomando says:

Dave, I bet it was a complete coincidence.

UFC had no ulterior motives with that move and Dana White is a good public figurehead who represents the company in a good light.

  • Yes Holy_Dave we will have coverage of both events. I will be listening in on the conference call at 4pm and will post updates from the call and press conference. I’ll have a post up about the UFC announcements later tonight.

  • scotchydow says:

That will be amazing, but do you still believe that they will agree which org. the fight will be bannered by? I think Dana still has “high hopes” of getting Randy back. I am still hopefull to see the fight in the UFC, but also doubtful.

  • It could be co-promoted (like Strikeforce and BodogFight do) but I think it’s most likely to happen in the UFC. M-1 has a much more open approach and the UFC is more strict in terms of letting fighters in other promotions so I think if they fight (barring Randy getting out of his contract with the UFC) it will take place in the octagon.
