  • Lou Miramontes says:

I’m gonna LOVE this fight, but c’mon, is anyone REALLY excited?

    Wandy by K.O. Round 2
    WAR Silva

  • scotchydow says:

I am not nearly as excited as I would have been if I would be if it would have happened 2 years ago (or even the beginning of this year) I still hope it’s a battle, but Wanderlei will KO Chuck. Then maybe Wandy/Hendo II(or is a rubber match at 3 now?) , or Wandy vs Houston Alexander would be CRAZY GOOD!

  • Valentino says:

Hey! what about Silva vs Rampage III? as you can see, Rampage is a diferent fighter now, its more mature than before, that would be a clash!!

  • scotchydow says:

I hope the UFC makes Wandy rack up a couple of wins first.

  • Blochka says:

This fight’s a paycheck for Chuck & off into the sunset (and tax return prep work…)

  • Josh says:

If their is one thing I have learned about the MMA world it is that you cant ever count anyone out. I would bet on Wanderlei to win but wouldnt be shocked to see Chuck pull out an upset.

  • Blochka says:

Now what I wanna see is some senior division mma! [C'mon- they got senior golf afterall!]

Imagine Ken [how'd I get this big?] Frye vs. Ken [I been punched in the noggin' waaaaaaaay too many times (and it wasn't just Tito...)] Sharock on HDnet in super TMX Dolby surround sound!!! Winner gets Mark [I'm a human punching bag] Kern…

Now that’s a promotion for late night EVERYONE would pay muchos Pesos fer! E-mail Cubes and demand your senior mma fightin’ now!!!!!!!

  • scotchydow says:

Just being anal again, but it’s Don Frye. I am pretty sure (unless Shamrock won’t sign) that they are going to fight again in 2008. Frye is a bad MAMMA JAMMA, but he tires too quickly. You are right though, he did get excesivly LARGE after he debuted in UFC 8. I still like the aunrey old FART though.

  • Steve says:

Watching Liddell get beat up for the third time this year isn’t exciting.

  • Holy_Dave says:

Silva doesn’t deserve a title shot for at least 3 good wins. He’s coming off a loss just like a lot of other great fighters. This is great, a fight people have been dying to see, both fighters coming off loss(es), and it’s the new years show. Let’s get past this Rashad and Pisping fight as a main event and then we can get some good **** again. I’m excited.

  • FixXeR says:

I guess i am the only one that picks chuck in this fight.

  • UTD says:

I have a sneaky feeling for chuck in this fight, I don’t agree that Chuck is such a massive underdog, you don’t become a bad fighter over-night!.

  • Delfin says:

    Hello Kris

i am not happy with this announcement. I believe in the competition and the fight between chuck and jardine was suppose to decide who fight Silva and as everybody knows here Jardine won that fight. that is a very disrespectful. because everything that jardine went thru to win that fight and get pay pennies for giving a good fight and this happen. even if this fight is more exciting this fight should been given to jardine. If i was a ufc fighter i would not try to kill my self because no matter what you do they do what ever that f..k they want. Even if this fight is better.

    Thank you

  • If you were a huge fan of PRIDE, this is the road to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson for Wanderlei. If you aren’t interested in a 3rd bout between the two, you should stop watching MMA. The excitement and pace in each of their bouts was awesome. I hope Wanderlei comes in swinging and takes out Liddell. This is all wishful thinking of course, but there is a very good chance it could happen. Classic puncher vs. counterpuncher fight.

  • mikey says:

Could you imagine how in his head he would be if he completely destroys Liddel, and is given a title shot. Jackson would be so apprehensive and worried he would be knocked out a third time and lose his title. That’d be a great fight I couldn’t miss.

  • Red says:

I’m with you FixXeR. I got Liddell in this fight. He has been looking forward to this fight for some time now. After he knocked out Babalu the first time; in the post fight conference he said he wanted to fight Wanderlei Silva.

After be beat Couture for the title at UFC 52; he said he wanted the Pride belt and at the time Silva had the Middleweight Title.

Silva’s style plays into Chuck’s style really well. Jardine and Jackson were countering Chuck and it threw Chuck off his game. Alos, let’s not forget that Silva is coming off two back to back losses in which he lost both by knockout. Liddell will win this fight; hopefully by knockout.

  • belly says:

i cant wait for this fight.whether they have lost their last fights or not they are still good fighters. and i think its a fight that could go either way which is what i wanna see in the ufc.if he wins wanderlei should be made to win more than one fight before a title shot in the most competetive division. this could also be a way back for chuck if he can get the win.

  • Blochka says:

Scotchydow, you are correct = Don Frye

I have an incentive to lure talent to the Senior League MMA: No drug testing. Also, a fighter can be within +/- 15 pounds of their weight class for a fight. This will get Tank Abbott into the fold…

  • Red says:

I think Shammrock is still a decent fighter. I think he is still like a B level fighter. It’s just that when he gets pitted against A level fighters like Franklin or Ortiz; he gets smashed. I wouldn’t mind Shammrock putting a beating on Don Frye or Tank Abbot. Frye beat him before, so it’s a fight that might interest Shammrock. I think Sammrock still has a few really good fights in him.

  • jorgito says:

I see this fight being over in the second round, when they begin to tire. really the winner is going to be who gets that clean shot. I think it;s 50:50

  • Holy_Dave says:

Yeah, it is a 50:50 fight. Who shows up that night? Who is able to come back off getting beat (once or twice)? It will be a great fight, and I think they both are going to fight like it’s the biggest fight of their lives, because it might just be.

  • jorgi to says:

It will be a good fight, but if chuck wins than what, he won’t get a title shot. So that leaves who to challenge Rampage, Evans “Yawn.”

  • Holy_Dave says:

This could set up a Henderson-Liddell fight if Chuck wins. That would be another great promotion opportunity. I really don’t feel that PISSping should be one win away from a title shot. Granted, no way in Hell he can beat Rashad without the same refs as Hamil-Bisping. But, I think Rashad will finish instead of letting him up like Matt H. Look for a 1st round TKO by Rashad and then a street brawl between Rashad-Rampage.

  • Holy_Dave says:

Also, a buddy of mine said that Vera had mentioned after the his loss to Sylvia that he might have to “go after that 205 belt now and worry about the heavyweight belt later”. ANybody else heard anything like that, or all bull? I know if he broke his hand, it would be a while, but I do like the matchups it could create.

  • After the match Rogan interviewed Vera who confirmed the broken hand but flat out said he is staying at heavyweight for now.

  • Holy_Dave says:

Cool, thanks, I liked the thought but knew inside it was bull. Thanks, Kris.

  • I would like him a LHW as well but I agree with his decision to stay as heavyweight but I think with another loss he needs to go to 205. His loss to Tim is excusable this time, he had a broken hand and gave up a lot of size plus was coming off an extended layoff. I am not making excuses for him but it’s not like it was shocking that Sylvia pinned him to the cage and won a decision.

  • scotchydow says:

Joe and Mike (Rogan and Goldberg) talked like Vera was getting manhandeled by Sylvia and should move down to 205. I completely disagree. I think exactly the opposite, and feel he proved he could hang with the much bigger Sylvia, and believe if he hadn’t of broken his hand, Sylvia would have been put to sleep. I don’t know if Vera could hang with someone as big as Lesnar though. As far as Lesnar hanging with Couture, he probablly could hang with him wrestling. I just think Randy would outsmart him on the feet, and then get him on the ground, and pound him out. And no, I am not a HULKAMORONIAC or an idiot, but Lesnar has a terrific colligic(sp?) wrestling background, and is tremendously powerful. That would definately give Couture a problem(but Randy still wins)

  • Josh says:

I am shocked you MMA heads havent been talking about the Fedor press conference? You guys can talk about Wandy and Chuch all day but I seriously did you get the scoop on Fedors deal with M-1. Everyone was calling him a sell out and that America and the UFC fans are not gonna get to see him fight, but M-1 says that they will let their champion fight any other organizations champ! Allowing Fedor to fight the best in the world. And check this guy out “Fedor” when asked about being number one and who he thought number 2 was, his answer was he didnt think he had earned the number 1 spot yet. Wow what a guy, and when asked about Randy, he said basically Randy is the strongest fighter he knows. Now all contracts aside get these guys together to fight.

  • I could talk about it all day considering I’ve done tons of research on the company involved, etc., but in the end, the financials of the company really make it a risky promotion.

  • scotchydow says:

Right on Josh. I was just reading an article about M-1. They are not signing a huge stable of fighters, but are offering the fighters they do have to other orgs (including an offer of Emilienanko to the UFC!) Now all Zuffa has to do is make Randy happy, and make this fight happen in the octagon. Fedor even said (in his own words) that he doen’t feel he desirves the #1 ranking yet, and Couture is the toughest fighter he knows. LET’S GET IT ON!

  • jorgi to says:

ASSUMING RANDY IS STILL CHAMP AND HE FIGHTS FEDOR. iF FEDOR WINS WHAT HAPPENS TO THE BELT, FEDOR BECOMES A CHAMP IN TWO ORGINIZATIONS? Does not sound like a good business move for the UFC. But a great move for M-1.

  • Jeff Verona says:

I think that even though Randy only wants to fight Fedor,Fedor needs to stop running around and sign a deal with the ufc to prove who the best really is. Why in the hell would Dana White want to make M-1 richer by letting his heavyweight champ Randy Couture fight Fedor. If Fedor will not sign even a one fight contract with the UFC then he needs to be forgotten.

  • Josh says:

Seriously Jeff I dont think you have a clue but your comments are entertaining. First of all the be up on what your talking about specially here where everyone does there home work about what is going on in the MMA world. Watch the interview with Fedor, see what he says when they ask him that question, I have seen it and I agree with him. He doesnt believe that the UFC treats the fighter the way he would want to be treated, so why would he put himself in their pockets. And let me tell you about money, Fedor vs Randy even if Fedor is in M-1 is going to benefit both organizations

  • jeff says:

I thought this was about LHW and Liddel and Wandy? Fedor is the best in my eyes but this isnt the place to comment on it

    ANYWAY

I think Chuck will beat Wandy…UFC is not Pride and the rules mess up the fighters that come over that never fought in the cage…Silva fought in the cage before and he didnt do so well then went to japan and was able to use his number 1 weapon…SOCCER KICKS AND STOMPS…UFC doesnt allow those type of strikes and I think it will throw Silva off his game

  • phil says:

i think chuck will get this one he will be more determind than ever and this will be the start of his come back evryone seems to think hes no one anymore what about randy he lost to chuck twice now look at him unbeatable

  • Steve says:

Chuck got caught against rampage and lost a razor close split decision to Jardine. It will be a war but I see Liddell knocking out Silva. With the stomps and soccer kicks removed their goes 75% of Silva’s ground attack. Chuck has been wanting this fight since 03 and his style is bad for silva. Silva comes in wildly and Chuck has a history of knocking out guys like the. He has stronger knock out power than henderson and we all know what happened there. We’ll know who’s better than who when they fight so may the best man win.
