Glover Teixeira recently underwent surgery on his right hand, following his KO loss to Alexander Gustafsson last month, but the light-heavyweight’s optimistic he won’t be sidelined for too long.
The Brazilian star informed MMA Fighting that he fractured a finger during the third round of his scrap with Gustafsson. In addition, Teixeira said the following:
“I think I’ll be able to train again in six or eight weeks,” Teixeira said. “The doctor said the recovery is easy. I’ll start physical therapy in two weeks, I believe.”
That’s good to hear, although, since Teixeira has been KO’d in two of his last three fights, you have to wonder if perhaps he’ll take a little time off before he returns to the cage. The 37 year-old contender is currently ranked #3.
