As a lot of folks predicted might happen, after Mike Goldberg was let go by the UFC, the veteran announcer’s been hired by Bellator. Not only that, but the Viacom owned promotion has also added former Strikeforce and PRIDE play-by-play man, Mauro Ranallo, to its broadcast booth.
In a press release announcing the hires, Bellator President Scott Coker was quoted saying:
“Mike Goldberg and Mauro Ranallo are two of the best in our business and I couldn’t be happier about them joining the Bellator family. In addition to June 24, we look forward to working together to make future Spike broadcasts even more exciting for our fans as we add further depth to an already-exceptional broadcast team.”
So, this is just the latest in a series of big moves from Bellator, and it’s nice to see Goldberg land another gig. The latter also posted this comment on his Instagram account:
