In February, Chan Sung Jung buzzed the MMA world in his long awaited return, by taking out Dennis Bermudez, but it looks like “The Korean Zombie” won’t be fighting again, anytime soon.

The South Korean star was scheduled to battle Ricardo Lamas at UFC 214 next month, before it was recently confirmed that “TKZ” had withdrawn due to a knee injury. Initially, it was reported that Jung could be out for around six months, but based off a recent post he made on Instagram, it looks like it will be longer than that.

Recently Jung posted the picture and statement below  (translation via Google translate):

I am a person who can do this kind of thing at any time. I have hurt countless colleagues. So I do not blame the friend who hurt me. I know that I am not good enough. I learn a lot. And again, I realized that there are a lot of people waiting for my game. Sorry. I will get stronger and come back.

When Jung fought Bermudez, it marked the first time he had competed since 2013, when he lost to Jose Aldo. After Jung underwent shoulder surgery, following that bout, he entered the South Korean military to perform his two years of mandatory service.
