“The winner of the UFC 78 main event between Rashand Evans and Michael Bipsing will reportedly receive an immediate title shot.”
WOW, that’s a freakin travesty. I’d be hesitant to say Rashad deserves it, nevermind Bisping. “The Count” shouldn’t be anywhere near a title shot for AT LEAST another 2 fights against real fighters.
P.S. Hey Kris, you misspelled Bisping.
Thanks for the heads up on the spelling. As far as a title shot goes I personally think neither of them are ready to step in against Rampage yet. This is just an early report but it’s very interesting none the less.
Would Bisping even take the title shot if he won against Rashad? I mean he did train with Rampage for UFC 75…
Bisping’s in it for his career. I’m sure he’d take the shot in a heartbeat. I could see Rampage having reservations about it, but definitely not Bisping.
I agree with you guys; I don’t think Rashad or Bisping deserve a title shot. Rashad is the more deserving one, but Bisping has unfinished business with Hamill. Also, if Bisping is victorious at UFC 78; the rumor is the winner gets a title shot, but isn’t Bisping and Rampage friends? They do train together. Is that fight even possible? Also, how is Rashad or Bisping more deserving for a title shot than Forrest Griffin?
“…Forrest Griffin will be undergoing surgery to repair a shoulder injury he suffered before his fight against Mauricio Rua in September…”
Forrest had an injury too, there goes peoples excuse for Sho-Gun being injured, they both were, as usual with MMA fighters.
Here comes all the British fans proclaiming Bisping as a God if he wins against Rashad. Rampage will absolutely destroy either fighter.
thats just retarded, and everybody knows what i’m talking about. who has bisping fought? and dont say “if he wins, rashad evans”… who has evans fought?? he was getting man handled by ortiz in his last fight and got lucky by ortiz grabbing the fence, and lets face it, ortiz is a little past his prime. there’s enough talent in the LHW division, especially considering if you’re going to hand it to someone that apparently you want from TUF, give it to Jardine or Griffin, atleat they’ve beaten great fighters. (though personally, i dont think Griffin or Jardine would beat Rampage)
I heard TUF7 would be for middle weights, not heavy weights. Which is correct???
TUF7 was for middleweights, but apparently is now for Heavyweights, which sucks for the MW division.
any word on possible coaches for TUF 7?
TUF 7 better not put the heavyweight belt on hold…
How are Evans and Bisping getting a title shot over Griffen or Jardine?
Why would they change TUF 7 to heavyweight instead of middleweights? The MW division needs more fighters.
I see rashad getting bet by rampage in 6 months. BUT, I think Rashad will prove he’s the real thing. (and Bisping will drop to 185 after this fight, or better yet…. die)
TUF 7 needs to be MWs and HW like the second season. A lot of good talent comes from the show, so why not let it go for 2 divisions? They both need some fresh blood as we all know.
wow… forrest needs the title shot.
i think HW is the most boring class to watch. I would rather see mw too, but even if we did see mw… no one ready to fight for title is going to pop right off TUF
“The winner of the UFC 78 main event between Rashand Evans and Michael Bipsing will reportedly receive an immediate title shot.”
Rampage will kill either of these guys. I don’t think that PPV would garner as much as most light heavyweight fights normally do.
I thought TUF 7 was going to feature MW?? Is this new information correct?
I think that Rashand is fairly ready for a shot but Bisping is not champ material yet. I really think he needs a good hard loss under his belt before becoming champ material. I also think if they are going to put forrest up there they need him to go back and beat Jardine. I’m stoked about the heavyweight TUF, that should definitely be a good one. Bring a group of crazy big dudes in there.
On another note I think all of the titles are on hold, thats why we’re getting non-title main events here. We have lightweight on hold for his appeal, welterweight is coming up, middleweight can’t be stopped (maybe Henderson) light heavyweight is the only non-stop top contender division, and heavyweight…who wants to watch Tim Sylvia fight again..ever. Any there are the two cents
At a time when the popularity of the sport is still on the rise it’s important to take advantage of a situation. Remember that this is a business after all and what’s good for the ufc is what the fans want. Look for Rampage vs. Griffin or possibly wandy after the liddell match. Look for Rashad to possibly take on machida, after all both fighters are undefeated. They won’t put bisping against a team member, or former team member, however you want to look at it. The MW are boring with Silva winning easily over every opponent. Look for Henderson to reclaim the title against him if negotiations are met with his contract. He’s the only one right now with a shot. Plus 183 is his prefered fight weight. Bj Penn will reign supreme over stevenson and prove to everyone he’s the best pound for pound fighter in the world. Look for a winner between Koshcheck and Parisyan to take on St. Pierre after he takes care of matt hughes. As far as the heavyweights are concerend there isn’t much to say really except sylvia will probably fight a decent guy for the title. Man I wish the could have grabbed Fedor. Who’s that guy’s manager anyway? Arvlovski has been silent for awhile, look for him to make a splash somewhere soon. As far as TUF 7 is concerend it has to be middle weights since the division is struggling right now. Thanks
yes the new season will feature middlewieghts i want to see this season but it makes you wonder who the coaches for season 8 will be
