Heavyweight prospect Bobby Lashley will make his anticipated return to action against fellow unbeaten Ron Sparks on the Showtime-televised main card of “Strikeforce: Los Angeles” on June 16 at the Nokia Theater in L.A., according to MMAjunkie.
The American Top Team-trained Lashley (5-0), a two-time NAIA wrestling champion and former professional wrestler, began his MMA career in December 2008 and reeled off four-straight wins before scoring a first-round TKO of Wes Sims in his last fight in January.
Sparks (5-0), who had been expected to face fellow up-and-comer Shane del Rosario at the event, earned a unanimous decision over Jonathan Ivey last June in his most-recent bout following four-straight first-round knockouts to begin his career, with the longest lasting just 67-seconds.
“Strikeforce: Los Angeles” is headlined by Robbie Lawler vs. Renato “Babalu” Sobral and also features the Strikeforce debut of KJ Noons.
