All the talk about UFC stars taking on boxing’s elite certainly doesn’t appear to be dying down.

In recent weeks, as talks to finalize a bout between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. continue, discussions about mixed-martial-artists versus boxers has reached new levels. We’ve seen Jimi Manuwa call for a bout with David Haye, Anderson Silva and Roy Jones Jr. repeat their interest in boxing one another, and Junior dos Santos relay he would like to box Anthony Joshua.

Well, speaking of Joshua, who took out Wladimir Klitshko in April to secure two more, championship belts, Stipe Miocic had this to say about him on “The MMA Hour” (quote via MMA Mania):

“If the fight happens, me against Joshua would be a great fight,” Miocic said “I think I’d surprise a lot of people, I think it’d be an amazing fight … let’s do it! He’s a great guy. He’s tough, he’s a champion for a reason. I think I’d give him a run for his money.”

“I do a lot of boxing and I’ve boxed before, working on my boxing I think I’d be fine. “He’s a tough guy, he’s the best in the world. But, I’m pretty tough, too,”

Miocic is a former Golden Gloves champ, but, chances are most combat sports pundits don’t believe he’d fair to well here. After all, Joshua is the heavyweight champ of the world and is a former, Olympic Gold Medalist in the sweet science. Of course, in MMA, Miocic would likely cruise through Joshua.
