Paul Daley and Karo Parisyan Sign With Impact FC for July Bouts in Australia (updated)
Just days after being released by the UFC for his post-fight sucker punch of Josh Koscheck at Saturday’s UFC 113, former welterweight contender Paul Daley is set to return to action at a July 3 Impact Fighting Championships event in Australia against an opponent to-be-determined.
“Semtex” announced the bout to MMA Weekly on Wednesday, and said he’s also in talks with Japan’s DREAM and Sengoku and Canada’s MFC for future fights.
Another former UFC welterweight contender, Karo Parisyan, has also signed with the upstart Australian promotion after failing to reach a deal with Strikeforce, and will debut on July 10 vs. Luis Dutra Jr., MMAjunkie reports.
The July 10 event will also feature Josh Barnett vs. Geronimo “Mondragon” dos Santos, while a July 17 card is expected to include Ken Shamrock vs. Pedro Rizzo (not Mark Coleman), according to MMA Fighting.

Best of luck to a new start-up MMA promotion.
Not sure signing Paul Daley is the best way to get it off of the ground, but I wish ImpactFC the same success U wish every other new org.
More groups promoting MMA is good for the sport, as long as they do so responsibly and with the sport’s best interests at heart…
nice pick up for impact..intristing couple of fights coming up for them..i was hoping daley would go to strikeforce.theres alot of good fights for him there..but he cant hang with nick diaz..
Yah i wonder why SF didn’t pursue him or he didn’t persue for SF. Anyone knows?
Coker said he had no interest in pursuing Daley at this time as he will most likely be suspended in the States(where Strikeforce operates) and he condemned the behavior. He didn’t pick up Daley originally after the Elite XC collapse either.
It should be noted that Coker is no fool. He’s made a living at this for awhile and does have his own ethics. He’s not some failed boxing promoter trying to turn a quick buck before burning his shareholders.

Because Scott Coker didn’t want him. Coker just had a brawl happen at a very bad time and jeopardize his entire company and it’s CBS TV deal. Coker has zero interest in picking up a guy who can’t keep his composure and might do something stupid…again. It is a wise move by Coker who knows he cannot afford to have incidents like post-fight Daley versus Koscheck. I doubt you will ever see Scott Coker again, sign a guy that is let go from some other organization because of a serious cheapshot well outside the rules. God help us if he does. Strikeforce has Babalu though. Hmm. I think if Babalu was in trouble today like he was after his last fight with the UFC…Scott Coker would not sign him.
Good call on the timing issue. However, as I said Coker didn’t sign him before when he had the chance so it may go back further than just this.
I’m suprised that the Athletic State Commission would let him fight anywhere for awhile.
There is no United States Athletic Commission in Australia. Nothing technically stops him here.
Thats crap….IMO he should be banned from MMA for at least a year. Make him flip burgers or sack groceries so he can remember to keep his cool after getting outgrappled by…well..a much better grappler. Dont even know who he is fighting but after UFC 113 im always gonna boo agains paul daley…boo this man
whose going to ban him with any authority?
As of yet there is no global MMA authority capable of keeping Daley out of the sport as you suggest.
And I know I wouldn’t hire
But give Dana White some time, will ya?
The guy has been at this for only a decade, and may need some more time before he becomes undisputed King of Planetary MMA…
;-)
did you say that when the brawl happened at sf or after tito hit his wife, or when rampage went on his rampage? everyone screws up its the man you become afterwards the screw up that make the real man!
Well lets see, ya got 2 steroid users and Mark Coleman on the card…or maybe not as its posted. Why not round it off with a cheap shot artist.
Hell, where can I order this??
bumfightsdump.com or gorillafights.com?
Sorry, but someone had to say it…
:-)
In Daley’s first match he will be fighting…a Kangeroo. (Don’t turn your back on him Kangeroo!)
kangaroos are vicious kickers… that’s not a sure win…
I think it is a sure win…for the Kangaroo. I predict Daley becoming fatigued from loss of blood to the midsection as the Kangeroo works Daley’s body with it’s surprisingly sharp claws. Daley will complain to the referee about being gouged but the referee won’t listen because he can’t understand what Daley is saying to him and because Kangeroo’s are cute. Daley loses his cool after the fight and suckers the Kangeroo unconscious…here we go again.
I’d actually pay to see that.
Throw in Jose Canseco and maybe a post fight 20-man battle royal and you got yourself quite a circus.
i would agree if koscheck wouldnt of said he was saying crap and wouldnt of faked crap in two of his last fights.
Impact just got Karo Parisyan for their July 10th card. Interesting to see what other former UFC fighters they will be signing before July.
Jesus.
Daley and Parisyan.
Its like this org is backed by Ringling Bros. or something.
Best of luck with your new “talent”, and thanks for getting them out of the States, at least for awhile…
as a mma fan i would love to see these two guys go at it. It will be a great fight. i still dont agree with the dana banning daley from the ufc. A 12 month suspension would have been enough or just cut him for a whil. But dana saying hell never fight in the ufc again is a bit haste. If maia did what he did after the anderson silva fight like went for a takedown after bell went and got pulled off it wouldnt be the same consquence maybe a suspension or a fine but he wouldnt be cut imo. I hope daley keeps his cool and makes it back in the octagon one day
There’s no reason to bring up Maia-Silva here… plus Maia didn’t do anything in the face of Silva’s antics and that makes him a bigger man than Daley. Plus Maia-Silva happened before the Strikeforce brawl and like it or not that has had a profound impact on MMA.
WOW you guys turn your backs on a guy farely quick after they f*&k up hey? he screwed up give him a brake
Yep. Daley is my boy wether he messed up or not. He still has a few fans out there who will support him.
Just so I clearly understand the POV of Daley’s remaining supporters, are you all catagorizing his laundry list of offenses, such as his incessant sh!t-talking which he was unable to even remotely back up, his disrespecting of not only his opponent but of NCAA Division 1 wrestling, his throwing of an illegal knee to the head of a downed opponent, and his cheapshotting of said opponent after the fight as a single “screw up”?
Or are you granting him some sort of unearned blanket pardon simply because you dislike Josh Koscheck?
