A lightweight matchup between fan favorite Clay Guida and jiu-jitsu black belt Rafael dos Anjos has been added to UFC 117, which takes place on August 7 in Oakland, California, according to Tatame.
Guida (26-11) snapped a two-fight losing streak to Diego Sanchez and Kenny Florian with a second-round “Submission of the Night” of Shannon Gugerty at UFC on Versus 1 in March.
After beginning his UFC career with back-to-back losses, dos Anjos (14-4) scored wins over Rob Emerson and Kyle Bradley before earned “Submission of the Night” honors for his second-round armbar of Terry Etim at UFC 112 in April.
UFC 117 is headlined by middleweight champ Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen and is also rumored to feature Junior dos Santos vs. Roy Nelson, Thiago Alves vs. Jon Fitch and Matt Hughes vs. Ricardo Almeida.
