David Loiseau vs. Mario Miranda on Tap for June’s UFC 115 in Vancouver
After being denied a spot on Saturday’s UFC 113 in Montreal, veteran David Loiseau will return to the UFC against fellow middleweight Mario Miranda at UFC 115 on June 12 in Vancouver.
After winning a lone bout outside the Octagon following his UFC release last April, the former 185-pound contender Loiseau (19-9) was tapped as a late replacement to face John Salter at UFC 113, but after initially being denied a license for the fight, the UFC instead booked Jason MacDonald for the matchup. “The Crow” has won 4 of his last 5 fights, dropping a lopsided unanimous decision to Ed Herman at UFC 97 before bouncing back with a first-round knockout in February.
Miranda (11-1), who holds notable wins over Rick Story and Joe Vedepo, dropped his UFC debut in March, suffering a first-round knockout to Gerald Harris at UFC Fight Night 21 for his first career loss.
Loiseau-Miranda will take place on the preliminary card of UFC 115, which is headlined by Chuck Liddell vs. Rich Franklin and also includes Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic vs. Pat Barry and Paulo Thiago vs. Martin Kampmann.

Glad that Loiseau is still getting a shot in the UFC after Quebec interfered.
Very odd that BC would sanction it but Quebec would not.
To our Canadian frenZied:
Are their significant MMA licensure differences between Canadian provinces which would explain why Loiseau was greenlighted by British Columbia but redlighted by Quebec??
The problem with Loiseau in Quebec, which I already addressed, was that they were too lazy to figure out that he didn’t have mob ties until after the UFC had replaced him on the card. Two days too late they cleared him to fight, so the UFC shifted him to a later date.
Does anyone really care to see David Loiseau fight?
Yes, lots of people do. As a warning: the next time you post “Does anyone care to see X fighter fight?” it will be treated as bashing and therefore deleted.
Once upon a time David Loiseau was considered one of the very best 185ers in the MMA world. Check out his title match against Rich Franklin on YouTube or something.
Any man that delivers that sort of performance against Rich Franklin has earned both my curiousity in seeing him fight again and my respect…
that’s great news – very happy for Loiseau as a former mtler who lives in Van – even though I don;t have ticket.
