Derrick Lewis has let it be known that he’d like to fight Mark Hunt, and it looks like the heavyweight might get his wish.
MMA Junkie is reporting that sources have informed the outlet that the UFC is hoping to book Lewis – Hunt for UFC Fight Night 110. That card will go down on June 10th in Auckland, New Zealand.
The report is somewhat surprising, since Hunt is coming off a KO loss to Alistair Overeem earlier this month. The feared slugger also injured his leg in the bout, and as a result, Hunt will need to be medically cleared in order to for the fight to move forward.
Lewis, meanwhile, is coming off a KO win over Travis Browne in February. The surging heavyweight has won six in a row.
So, if it happens, that’s a headlining bout which very likely won’t go five rounds.
