“Shogun” Rua Hopes “Best is Still to Come” Following Third Straight Win

After “Shogun” Rua was quickly KO’d by Ovince Saint Preux in 2014, there were plenty of folks who argued that the former champ’s time as a top fighter was over. Some even questioned if he should hang up the gloves. After all, the defeat followed Rua’s stoppage loss to Dan Henderson, and it was his fourth loss in five fights.

Well, although it remains to be seen if Rua’s still capable of contending for the 205 title, obviously “Shogun’s” remains a threat at 205. Last night at UFC FN 106, the Brazilian star took out Gian Villante in the third round, and in doing so, recorded his third straight win.

After the bout, Rua spoke with the UFC camera crew and discussed the win, his current streak, and what might come next. You can check it out below.
