The fight will be part of UFC 211, which will go down in Dallas, Texas.
Edgar (21-5) got back on track in November, following his decision loss to Jose Aldo last summer, as he outscored Jeremy Stephens for the UD victory.
Rodriguez (10-1) recorded his most high profile victory to date in January, as he stopped the legendary BJ Penn in round two. “Pantera” is riding an eight fight winning streak, and is currently ranked #9 at 145.
Edgar, meanwhile, is sitting in the #2 spot.
So, that’s a really interesting featherweight bout. If Rodriguez can win, then he could be knocking on the door for a title shot.
