After being cut by the UFC in February following back-to-back losses, Canadian heavyweight Tim Hague is returning to the promotion as a late-replacement for newcomer Chad Corvin and will meet Joey Beltran on the preliminary card of UFC 113 on May 8 in Montreal.
According to MMAjunkie, Corvin was forced off the card when his medical paperwork failed to be approved by the Quebec Athletic Commission for undisclosed reasons.
Hague (10-3) made his UFC debut last May with a first-round submission Pat Barry, but “The Thrashing Machine” has since suffered a 7-second KO to Todd Duffee in August before dropping a majority decision to Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 109 in February.
After knocking out UFC veteran Houston Alexander in January, Beltran (11-3) made his Octagon debut as a last-minute replacement at UFC 109 and scored a second-round TKO of Rolles Gracie.
UFC 113 is headlined by a rematch between light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida and challenger Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, and also features a matchup between welterweight contenders Josh Koscheck and Paul Daley.
