It looks like Rashad Evans first bout at 185 will take place against Judoka, Dan Kelly.
ESPN is reporting that Evans will face Kelly at UFC 209, March 4th, providing the Nevada Commission signs off on the bout. Evans was supposed to fight Tim Kennedy in November at UFC 205, but the New York Commission wouldn’t clear him to fight due to an issue on his pre-fight MRI. The bout was moved to UFC 206 one month later, but the Ontario Commission wouldn’t sign off on the bout either.
Evans has said, however, that he’s healthy and that he expects to be cleared moving forward. The former light-heavyweight champ hasn’t fought since April, 2016, when he was KO’d by Glover Teixeira.
Kelly has won three straight fights and is coming off a decision win over Chris Camozzi.
UFC 209 will take place in Las Vegas, and in the headliner, welterweight champ Tyron Woodley will take on Stephen Thompson.
