Dana White Weighs-In on Ronda Rousey’s Setbacks, “It’s a Rough Sport”

Dana White continues to make news this week on account of comments he’s made about the future of Ronda Rousey.

Recently the UFC boss man appeared on the promotion’s “Unfiltered” podcast, and during it, White reported that he believes Rousey will not fight again. White also noted that he thinks Rousey wants to experience other things, outside of fighting.

White also was interviewed by TMZ Sports recently, and he was asked if he was surprised by “how quickly things changed” for Rousey, in terms of her defeats etc. Here is some of what White had to say in response (quote via MMA Mania):

“I don’t know why. This sport is very, very tough, man. You have to stay on top of your game, and it’s a young man and young women’s sport. Throughout the history of time and fighting, one day you just show up and you don’t have it any more. It’s always happened that way. You never know when it’s gonna come, man, it just creeps up on you, and … it’s a rough sport.”

It’s a rough sport indeed. After Rousey was quickly stopped by bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes in December, “Rowdy” announced she was taking some time to consider her future. We haven’t heard anything else from Rousey or her camp since then, but based off White’s comments this week, it certainly seems like the star’s fighting career is over. Then again, this game is known for its twists, turns and surprises…
