Alex Caceres vs. Jason Knight
Both featherweights came out firing heavy shots, and Caceres stayed light on his feet and looked to slip / counter with punches. Knight continued to move forward, however, and mixed in takedown attempts. In round two, Knight took Caceres to the mat and was able to take the veteran’s back. Caceres defended several choke attempts from Knight, but eventually the latter sunk in a fight ending, rear-naked-choke. Another impressive performance for the rising featherweight.
Jason Knight def. Alex Caceres via submission (rear-naked-choke) R2, 4:21
Andrei Arlovski vs. Francis Ngannou
Arlovski stayed light on his feet during the opening moments of the bout, and managed to avoid several big punches from Ngannou. But, not long into the bout, Ngannou floored Arlovski with a left – right combination, and that was that. Ngannou will almost certainly face a top five ranked heavyweight next.
Francis Ngannou def. Andrei Arlovski via TKO (punches) R1, 1:32
Donald Cerrone vs. Jorge Masvidal
Cerrone came out firing a steady stream of leg kicks, but Masvidal tagged the veteran with hard jabs and crosses. As the round neared its end, Masvidal dropped Cerrone with a left hook, and rocked the latter with more shots from above. Shortly into round two, Masvidal sent Cerrone to the deck again with a right hand. Cerrone got back to his feet, but as Masvidal swarmed in with punches, the fight was stopped.
Jorge Masvidal def. Donald Cerrone via TKO (punches) R2, 1:00
Valentina Shevchenko vs. Julianna Pena
Pena closed the distance and clinched up early on into the fight, but it was Shevchenko who took the fight down with nicely timed trips. Pena clinched up again in round two, and this time, she took Shevchenko to the floor. But, after a battle on the floor, Shevchenko rolled into an armbar that forced Pena to tap. What a win for Shevchenko.
Valentina Shevchenko def. Julianna Pena via submission (armbar) R2, 4:29
