Al Iaquinta went through much of 2015, and all of 2016 without fighting, but it looks like that could change here shortly.
The powerful lightweight hasn’t fought since April, 2015, when he earned a split decision win over Jorge Masdvidal. Then, Iaquinta was sidelined with a neck injury, and more recently a contract dispute over the Reebok uniform deal has kept him out of the cage.
But, recently UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby met up with Iaquinta and his coaches Matt Serra and Ray Longo. It sounds like the interaction went well, as Shelby tweeted out the comment below:
