Michael Bisping Says He’ll Take on “All Comers”…But, Wants “Biggest Fight” Next

Michael Bisping

A lot of folks have been speculating and debating how a fight between Yoel Romero and Michael Bisping will go down, but it doesn’t sound like the latter’s 100% committed to that bout next…

Romero has worked his way into the #1 contender spot at 185, thanks to an 8-0 run in the UFC, which most recently, saw him stop Chris Weidman in brutal fashion. As a result, pretty much everyone and their dog expects Romero will get to face Bisping next.

Well, the middleweight champ has said he’s willing to fight the powerful wrestler, but it’s also clear he’s worried about the payday for that bout. Case in point, recently Bisping told Champions.co the following (quote via MMA Mania):

“I want the biggest fight I can get. I don’t mind facing No. 1 contenders but at this stage of my career I’ve fought the best guys forever. I want the biggest fight it can possibly be. By biggest, I mean the biggest money generating fight I can possibly have. I feel I deserve that. I’ve earned that. So whether that’s Yoel Romero, then great. But if it ain’t Yoel Romero, if it’s Anderson Silva, great. I know he’s piped up again lately. If it’s GSP [Georges St-Pierre]- I don’t care who the opponent is. I’m not bothered by any opponent. I am the champion of the world and I will take on all comers, but I want the biggest fight possible.”

There you have it. It will be interesting to see what the UFC decides to do here, but considering what Romero has done since he arrived in the promotion, it would be kind of surprising if he got passed over. Although, if Georges St-Pierre did come to terms with the UFC and wanted to fight Bisping, you never know…

Bisping avenged his KO loss to Dan Henderson in his last bout, by earning a UD win over the legend in October.
