Jason High Released by UFC After Debut Loss

Jason HighWelterweight Jason High has been released by the UFC after dropping a unanimous decision in his UFC debut against fellow newcomer Charlie Brenneman at UFC Fight Night 21 on March 31.

“Received my UFC walking papers today, one door closes another opens….you know how the saying goes,” High announced on Twitter.

The loss to Brenneman was the second-straight for High (9-3), who signed with the UFC after suffering a first-round knockout to Marius Zaromskis in the finals of DREAM’s welterweight grand prix last July. “The Kansas City Bandit” was previously 9-1, losing only to notable Jay Hieron in Affliction while earning wins over Andre Galvao and Kevin Burns.
