Maia = minimum 60 days, could you imagine IF Silva would have fought all 5 rounds??!! ;)
Silva is just a superior fighter give him GSP and we’ll see him explode. This whole fiasco was Danna White’s fault for not giving Silva a real challenge. You can’t blame the guy for being cocky he is a beast no matter what they say about his last performance. Anderson Silva rocks!!!!!
Imagine if Maia would have fought 1 round
That’s Silva’s failure by wanting to punish him for 5 rounds and yet he ran the last 3 rounds clockwise.
That’s good stuff Jeff clark. rofl
I had Maia not only fighting, but maybe winning 2 rounds. In round 4, Silva ran away so much I was liberal in giving Maia a 10-8 round.
10-8 4rth rnd, for 2 punches? Or just because Silva was working on his cardio? lol
I like how everyone bashed Kalib Starnes but applauds Silva. At least Starnes was injured. Silva’s just a di<khat.
@ dbiz – Starnes hadn’t built up the cred in the sport that Silva has.
As far as SIlva being a “d!ckhat”, I think at some point in his illustrious career, maybe at the urging of Ed Soares, Anderson Silva decided to shift his POV from being a mixed martial artist to a prizefighter.
Is that “d!ckery?”
Hard to say. I guess it depends on how you see the sport and its athletes.
Over at the forum, eldiablo rightfully pointed out that the UFC stands for Ultimate FIGHTING Championship, and not Ultimate Mixed Martial Arts Championship, so from a certain POV there is nothing wrong with Silva’s actions.
Silva supporters would probably be OK with that assessment, and/or point out tha its somehow Dana White’s fault for not giving Silva and Soares everything they want as soon as the request leaves their mouths.
IMO this is the same sort of deal Fedor and M-1 Global were/ are looking for, namely, influence and control beyond the confines of the Octagon, which is something that should never happen in the UFC.
I’m very interested to see what sort of future Silva has in the UFC, if any.
Dana has knocked heads with fighters far more popular and marketable [at the time] than Anderson Silva, and the UFC has only continued to grow in wealth and influence, so I’m pretty sure this is one “fight” that Anderson Silva, regardless of his world-class skills, can’t win…
Maia was the one who ran away of the fight, Silva punish him by not fighting back after and punish the organisation for having give him a sucky matchup
yeah, now if only more champions would do that. GSP could carry guys like Matt Serra 5 rounds instead of give him a nice beating, Penn would have let Joe Stevenson lose a boring decision, Brock or Shane Carwin can do push ups or something all fight long. We need to have more champions punish the fans of this sport because they have beaten the snot outta all the good competition already.
how did phil davis get suspended for 30 days when he didn’t get hit? but on a seperate note why didnt he get sub of the night? i think thats bull shhh
