After withdrawing from UFC 206 due to a groin injury, it looks like Daniel Cormier won’t be returning to the Octagon until the second quarter of 2017.
The light-heavyweight champ was booked to fight Anthony Johnson at the December 10th, Toronto card, but recently Cormier tore the adductor tendon in his groin and had to withdraw. On the latest “UFC Tonight” it was reported that Cormier will undergo surgery for the injury.
The decorated wrestler is reportedly hoping to fight again in four months time. Hopefully “DC’s” recovery goes well and he can in fact fight within that time frame.
The 37 year-old Cormier fought just once in 2016. In July, he decisioned Anderson Silva at UFC 200, who was stepping in for Jon Jones.
