Following his stoppage loss to Gegard Mousasi in October, Vitor Belfort has begun discussing his next bout and who he’d like to scrap.
The 39 year-old legend, who was quickly taken out by “Jacare” Souza in May, recently spoke to the Brazilian outlet Combate. Belfort relayed that he’s interested in fighting Anderson Silva again, since it’s a “big fight” that fans want to see. Silva KO’d Belfort in highlight reel fashion back in 2011.
During the interview, however, Belfort also reportedly said this (quote via MMA Fighting.com):
“Nick Diaz is a good fight,” Belfort said. “I would like this fight. He’s a guy with good boxing and good ground game, so it will be a good challenge.”
That’s certainly a bout that would also move a lot of tickets and TV ratings right? It will be interesting to see what comes next for Belfort.
