Ian McCall’s awful 2016 campaign continues, as MMA Junkie is reporting that the flyweight has fallen ill, and will no longer fight Neil Seery on Saturday. The veterans were supposed to battle at UFC Fight Night 99, which will go down in Belfast.
If you follow McCall then you know he’s had a bad string of luck in recent months. In July, McCall was scheduled to fight Justin Scoggins at UFC 201, but Scoggins had a bad weight cut and had to drop out. Then, McCall was scheduled to fight Ray Borg at UFC 203 in September, but the latter was forced to withdraw shortly before, due to illness.
The 32 year-old McCall hasn’t fought now in nearly two years, as his last bout took place in January, 2015, when he was decisioned by John Lineker.
UFC FN 99 will be headlined by a middleweight fight between Gegard Mousasi and Uriah Hall.
