I don’t understand why an organization as strong and dominant as Zuffa doesn’t go out and sign top fighters like Kang, Fedor, Arona, Barnett, etc. The ones that are signed; fine I understand they are under contract, but the ones that are free agents, just get them! it is disappointing to see the UFC not spend a little more money and truly get all the top fighters that are out there in the world of MMA.
I kind of like the idea of the team vs. team that the IFL has used. Their production value and presentation has been lacking, but there have been some good fights. Chris Hordeski(sp?) vs Chad Lierly(ap? again) was one of the best fights I have seen in any show. They don’t have the big names(except for coaches and big shows) but they have evenly matched fights which is what I like to see. Hordeski is a very promotable and profitable fighter because of his age (19 years old, with a 10-0 record! maybe better now?) I could never see IFL and UFC joining hands because Dana White has been very outspoken in his disgust with the organization.
I would like to see Ricardo Arona enter the UFC. He is a great fighter with some of the best wars from Pride (also the best highlight slam KO, though he was on the wrong end of the Rampage power bomb) He would give any middle or welterweight a run for their money.
I don’t know if any of you have read FIGHT! magazine yet, but it is great. Another good piece on team takedown in last months issue.
From my understanding, Kang has a love obsession with the Asian culture and would rather fight near Korea. Arona has basically done everything but say he wants to fight in the UFC. Barnett has a beef with UFC management, and is probably looking for a big payday against Fedor.
The worst thing Zuffa did was lie. If they would have kept PRIDE alive, we may actually have all of these fighters in one umbrella, but instead they siphoned them to the UFC and killed PRIDE. Now everyone is waiting around for the contracts to expire or hear from Zuffa regarding a deal. There are also a lot of Japanese fighters that know the cage is not their style, and many others that realize their popularity in Japan is much more than anywhere else.
What’s up with this link that shows up in my RSS feed, but is no longer on the site?

Empty_One – I am working on something for the site and needed it in the format of a quick result so I thought of something outlandish. It shouldn’t have went to the RSS feed if I would have had everything set right but it went through by accident.
Gotcha, all 3 times. But watch it if it comes true, we’ll know the fix is in!
Or I might look like the smartest person in the world, at least for a day.
