Recently there’s been rumors firing around that Conor McGregor might be set to take a break from fighting, but as he gets ready to face Eddie Alvarez, the Irish star has insisted he still loves throwing down.
McGregor will battle Alvarez at UFC 205 on Saturday night, in what will be the promotion’s first ever card in New York City. Recently the UFC held a media call to promote the card, and during it, McGregor angrily shot down a recent report that claimed he plans to take a hiatus.
Later in the call, McGregor also had this to say (quote via MMA Fighting.com):
“I love it. I don’t stop. It’s all I do,” McGregor said. “I don’t do nothing else. I continue to show up, I continue to fight, I continue to put these amazing events for the amazing fans of this sport. Of course I love what I do, and not only am I not getting tired of it, I’m actually getting better at it.”
Now, McGregor also said on the call that he will be making an announcement following UFC 205. So, we can only guess what that might be. Could be taking a shorter break? The Alvarez fight will be his fourth in the last calendar year.
Or could he announce he wants fight again at welterweight? That he’s fighting Jose Aldo? Who knows.
UFC 205 will be hosted by Madison Square Garden.
