Bellator 163 has lost one of it’s most experienced and best known fighters, as the promotion has confirmed that Paul Daley is no longer fighting tonight.
The feared striker was scheduled to fight welterweight Derek Anderson tonight, and Daley came in at 171 pounds yesterday for the match-up. The promotion’s president, Scott Coker, however, has informed MMA Fighting that Daley is no longer fighting as a result of a “difficult weight cut”.
Bellator 163 will feature light-heavyweight champ Liam McGeary versus former UFC contender Phil Davis in the main event. The main card, which is taking place in Uncasville, Connecticut, will be broadcast on Spike.
The 33 year-old Daley would have been fighting for the first time since July, when he lost via decision to Douglas Lima.
