During yesterday’s conference all, Conor McGregor warned Eddie Alvarez he plans to send the decorated fighter into retirement, and if the comments intimidated the latter, he sure wasn’t showing it.

McGregor will challenge the lightweight champ at UFC 205, November 12th, at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City. On the call, McGregor said he plans to make Alvarez pay for some of the things he’s been saying in recent months. Mr. Alvarez, as you probably know, has repeatedly said that he’s not too impressed with McGregor. He’s also argued the star’s had an easy path up the UFC ranks.

Well, Alvarez didn’t walk back from anything he’s said in the past about the featherweight champ. Case in point, here is some of what Alvarez had to say about McGregor on the call (quote via MMA Junkie.com):

“I know what I’m capable of, and I can get it done in any manner,” Alvarez said. “If he even thinks about wrestling, his defense is atrocious. He has good striking. His striking is well, but his defense is terrible. Terrible defense. Might be the worst in the division. If he even thinks about wrestling, I might just knock him the (expletive) out before that. We don’t know what’s going to happen, but you guys are all in for a treat.”

There you go. Others have also argued that McGregor has some openings, and tends to lean on his extremely, durable chin too much. It will be interesting to see whether Alvarez can land that big right. McGregor, it should be noted, has been questioning the chin of Alvarez as their match-up approaches.
