It seemed pretty obvious in recent weeks that Georges St-Pierre and Dana White weren’t exactly on the same page, but following a recent meeting they had, the UFC boss man’s reporting all is well…
In the preceding months, White has repeatedly questioned St-Pierre’s desire to fight again, even though the former welterweight champ has insisted he wants to. In addition, St-Pierre has been at odds with the UFC over his contract.
Well, GSP went to Las Vegas recently to talk with White and the UFC. Although no deal is in place for the Canadian’s return yet, White recently told the Saskatoon Star Phoenix this via text:
“My relationship has never been better with GSP. I’m glad we got together”.
The UFC President was also asked if he’s confident St-Pierre will return to the cage, and with the promotion. White reportedly said “he’s under contract with the UFC”, so if “Rush” does fight again, he’ll do so in the Octagon.
It’s going to be interesting to see how this all shakes out. St-Pierre hasn’t fought now since 2013 when he earned a split decision win over Johny Hendricks, and then announced he was taking a hiatus from fighting.
