Though rumored of a live event failed to materialize, the UFC will still counter Strikeforce’s CBS-televised “Nashville” event on April 17 with a replay of February’s “UFC 110: Nogueira vs. Velasquez” on Spike TV, it was announced on Monday.
UFC 110, which took place on February 21 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia, originally aired live on pay-per-view and was headlined by a matchup between rising contender Cain Velasquez and veteran former champ Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. The Spike TV broadcast will also include Wanderlei Silva vs. Michael Bisping, Joe Stevenson vs. George Sotiropoulos, Keith Jardine vs. Ryan Bader, Mirko Cro Cop vs. Anthony Perosh, and Chris Lytle vs. Brian Foster.
“Strikeforce: Nashville,” the promotion’s second card on CBS following it’s November debut with Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers, features a main event between middleweight champ Jake Shields and UFC veteran Dan Henderson, and also includes light heavyweight title-holder Gegard Mousasi vs. Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal and lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez vs. Shinya Aoki.
Both broadcasts are set to begin at 9pm ET.
