As many people believe would be the case, following “Bigfoot” Silva’s stoppage loss to Roy Nelson, it’s being reported the heavyweight has parted ways with the UFC.
According to a new report from MMA Junkie.com, a member from Silva’s camp says the fighter and the UFC have decided not to discuss a new contract. The loss to Nelson was the last on Silva’s deal, so the 37 year-old veteran is now a free agent.
Since the loss to Nelson marked the fifth time in Silva’s last six bouts that he was stopped, there have been some calls for the accomplished fighter to retire. But, recently Silva’s manager Alex Davis told MMA Junkie that “Bigfoot” would pursue fights with Rizin FF in Japan or organizations in Russia, if he didn’t resign with the UFC.
