Aljamain Sterling won’t be competing at the UFC’s November 12th, New York City debut, but he will be scrapping at the promotion’s next card in New York State after that.
Recently the UFC announced that Sterling will fight fellow bantamweight contender Raphael Assuncao at UFC 102, which will take place December 9th in Albany.
Sterling (12-1) is coming off his first and only pro defeat, as in May, he lost via split decision to Bryan Caraway.
Assuncao (23-5) was decisioned by TJ Dillashaw in July, which snapped the Brazilian’s seven fight winning streak.
That’s a very interesting and important match-up at 135. UFC FN 102 will be hosted by the Times Union Center.
