Daniel Cormier has his next title defense booked, and as expected, it will take place against Anthony Johnson.
The UFC has announced that the light-heavyweight champ will face Johnson at UFC 206, which will take place on December 10th in Toronto, Ontario. Although Jon Jones has reported that he believes he’ll be back in the Octagon soon, there’s been no update recently as to when that might happen.
As a result, the UFC has moved forward with Cormier – Johnson II. The two fought for the first time last May, and Cormier won the fight via a third round, rear-naked-choke. Since then, however, Johnson (22-5) has taken out Jimi Manuwa, Ryan Bader and Glover Teixeira.
Cormier (18-1), meanwhile, has scored decisions over Alexander Gustafsson and Anderson Silva since he fought Johnson.
UFC 206 will take place in Toronto’s Air Canada Centre.
